Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Public Sector client based in Southeast London, are looking for an experienced Business Change Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role within their Finance Directorate.

Position: Business Change Accountant

Rate: £30.37 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Duration: Temp (Apr 2027) Possible Extension

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

• This role is a key support role within the Accountancy Business Partnership Service that ensures the Service delivers it key objectives at an operational level and supports the Accountancy Business Change Managers in the Operational delivery of the Accountancy Business Partnership Service functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the operational delivery of an area of the overall Service, ensuring its sound running within Council Policy and the medium term financial position of the Council. Ensuring that Financial Procedures and practices are followed, and contributing to ensuring the Council meets its section 151 responsibilities.
• To advise senior officers of the Council on Finance matters in respect of the services for, which they are responsible.
• To undertake a range of accounting related activities that help ensure that the finances of the Council are properly run.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - Essential.
• Fully CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
• Experienced in advising on statutory financial duties including Section 151.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
