Church Office & Operations Manager (Part-Time)
Lancaster
St Thomas’ Lancaster is seeking an Office Manager to support the busy church office.
St Thomas’ Lancaster is seeking a warm, organised and capable Office Manager to support the smooth running of our busy church office and help enable the life and mission of the church. This varied role includes office management, church administration, finance support, compliance, volunteer processes and day-to-day systems, working closely with clergy, churchwardens, staff and volunteers. The role is 30 hours per week, with a salary of £32,045 pro rata, point 17 on the NJC pay scale. We are looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, confidence with office systems and financial administration, and the ability to work collaboratively and discreetly in a church setting. Because the role includes participation in Christian worship and staff devotions, the successful applicant must be a practising Christian able to uphold our Statement of Faith; this is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
St Thomas’ Church is situated in the centre of Lancaster, a historic city in the northwest of England. St Thomas’ Church is at an exciting stage of life; we estimate around 400 adults and 150 under-18s are coming regularly to our weekly gatherings, with 40-50 students also attending, particularly at the 7pm service. As a charismatic, evangelical Anglican church, St Thomas’ is committed to sharing God’s love from the heart of the city.
