Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (Driver Required) - West Sussex & Surrey

Are you ready to bring your passion for mentoring into the classroom? We are seeking adaptable, proactive individuals to support pupils on a full-time, long-term basis in schools across West Sussex and Surrey. If you have a background in care, youth work, sports coaching, early years, or a recent university degree, this is your chance to build a meaningful career in education.

Because our partner schools range from vibrant town academies to village schools in Crawley, Horsham, Guildford, Woking, and surrounding areas, a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with lead teachers to guide student learning and maintain classroom focus throughout the school day.
  • Mentor pupils 1:1 or in small focus groups to raise confidence in reading, writing, and practical problem-solving.
  • Assist students with additional learning needs (SEN), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and social-emotional growth.
  • Act as a positive role model, supporting break-time activities and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Driver Status: Full UK driving licence and daily access to a reliable car (Essential).
  • Availability: Full-time availability during standard school hours (Monday to Friday, term-time).
  • Transferable Experience: Background working with young people or vulnerable individuals, such as youth clubs, sports coaching, childcare, or graduate mentoring.
  • Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a "can-do" approach to teamwork.
  • Vetting: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete one prior to start).
  • Eligibility: Right to work in the UK.

Why Step Into This Role?

  • Predictable Schedule: Work standard school hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM) with weekends and holidays off.
  • Direct PAYE Pay: £85.00 - £105.00 per day (Up to £525 per week) with zero umbrella admin charges.
  • Career Progression: Gain hands-on experience perfect for future Teacher Training (PGCE/QTS), Educational Psychology, or SEN specialist pathways.
  • Continuous Learning: Access free accredited training modules covering Safeguarding, Behaviour De-escalation, and SEN strategies.
