The Opportunity

TSR Legal is currently working with an established and highly regarded law firm in Bristol who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Conveyancing Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant who enjoys being hands-on with transactions, providing a high level of client care and working closely with an experienced Conveyancer.

You will play an important role in supporting the progression of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion, while taking ownership of your own workload and ensuring clients are kept fully informed throughout.

The Role

Working closely with the Conveyancer and wider team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Conveyancer with the day-to-day progression of residential property transactions.
• Assisting with transactions from instruction through to completion.
• Liaising directly with clients, providing regular updates and responding to queries professionally and efficiently.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, telephone enquiries and visitors where required.
• Keeping case management systems and client records fully up to date.
• Undertaking a range of administrative and conveyancing tasks to support the smooth running of the team.
• Identifying issues or queries within transactions and escalating these to the Conveyancer where appropriate.
• Handling client monies in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
• Supporting the team with general administrative requirements and assisting with the training and development of colleagues where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high standard of client service is maintained at all times.
• Taking ownership of your workload and using your own initiative to ensure transactions progress efficiently.

About You

We are looking for a skilled Conveyancing Assistant who has a good understanding of the residential conveyancing process and is confident supporting transactions in a busy environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working within a residential conveyancing team.
• A good understanding of the conveyancing process and terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional and confident telephone manner.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload with multiple deadlines.
• Confidence working independently and using your own initiative.
• Strong client care skills and a genuine desire to provide a high-quality service.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using a legal case management system; SOS Connect experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
