The Opportunity

TSR Legal is working with a highly regarded law firm in Bristol who are looking to appoint a Legal Assistant to join their Corporate team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Legal PA who is looking to join a busy and professional Corporate team and play an important role in supporting fee earners and delivering an excellent service to clients.

You will provide a broad range of legal and administrative support, working closely with fee earners and colleagues to ensure matters are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with the firm’s quality and risk management standards.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day administrative and legal support to members of the Corporate team.
• Managing an administrative workload under the guidance of fee earners.
• Supporting with file opening, document production, filing, archiving, email management and post.
• Preparing documents, correspondence and bills using appropriate precedents and templates.
• Assisting with basic legal processes, including obtaining documentation, arranging meetings, completing forms and liaising with third parties.
• Communicating professionally with clients by telephone, email and in person.
• Acting as a point of contact for third parties including agents, referrers, experts and other solicitors.
• Providing a consistently high standard of client service and maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Supporting fee earners with online portals, CRM systems and client information.
• Assisting with business development and marketing activity, including arranging meetings and events and preparing relevant materials.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on the firm’s CRM system.
• Supporting the team with meetings, training and wider team activities.
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with internal policies, confidentiality requirements, data protection and file management procedures.
• Supporting the team with risk management and compliance processes, including file opening and anti-money laundering requirements.
• Making effective use of IT systems and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Taking ownership of smaller projects and contributing ideas to improve the way the team operates.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident working in a professional legal environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Legal PA within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Experience working with legal case management or CRM systems.
• A strong understanding of client service and the importance of building positive professional relationships.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
• The confidence to communicate with clients, colleagues and external contacts at all levels.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
• A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
• A professional, approachable and collaborative manner.
