Female Personal Care Assistant Supporting Independent Living in Carluke

Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a Woman with a Physical Disability living in the Carluke area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

• Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements)
• Assisting with medication
• Preparing meals and healthy snacks
• Moving and assisting – pushing manual wheelchair
• Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
• Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

Driver preferred but not essential.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage the individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Favourite activities are art, listening to audiobooks, swimming, music and socialising.

Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog, cat and bird in the home.

Experience is required.

Must be available to cover staff absences and holidays.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Hours of Work

Recruiting for one position.

Guaranteed permanent position of 16 hours per week .

Days and Times

• 4 shifts of 4 hours
• Covering Monday to Friday, typically 1:00pm to 5:00pm
• Overtime will be available to cover the existing team’s absence

Hourly Rate

£14.45 per hour
