The Kent Autistic Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead Coach to provide specialist PBS leadership across our services in Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled PBS practitioner who wants to combine direct support, coaching and assessment work with the opportunity to influence practice, develop teams and improve outcomes for autistic adults and people with learning disabilities.
Working closely with managers, support teams, families and external professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred and non-aversive support is embedded across your allocated area.
This is not a desk-based advisory role. You will be visible within services, coaching teams, responding to behavioural support needs and helping services navigate complex situations. The role requires flexibility to provide out-of-hours support, including evenings and weekends, when required to support services, behavioural crises, service transitions or other operational needs
Any additional hours worked will be managed through the Trust's Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) arrangements.
About the Role
As a PBS Lead Coach, you will combine hands-on Positive Behaviour Support practice with leadership responsibility across an allocated geographical area. You will undertake assessments, develop PBS plans, analyse behaviour data, coach staff teams and support managers to deliver outstanding support and positive outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing leadership and guidance within services when additional PBS support is required
Working Pattern
This role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9:00am -4.30pm (37.5 hours per week).
Flexibility is essential as there may occasionally be a requirement to work evenings or weekends, particularly during periods of crisis, significant behavioural support needs or service transitions. Additional hours worked will be managed through time owed in lieu (TOIL) , providing flexibility to take that time back at a later date.
About You
You will be an experienced PBS practitioner with the confidence to coach others, build strong relationships and drive high-quality practice across services.
Professional Development Opportunities
This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth within an established and specialist Practice Development Team.
The successful candidate will receive ongoing support and development, including the opportunity to become a Studio III Trainer , helping to further develop Positive Behaviour Support practice across the organisation.
