Level 2 Adult Care Apprenticeship at Action for Care Ltd
We are seeking an Adult Care worker to provide high-quality care to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Behaviours that Challenge and additional complex needs.
The role requires an enthusiastic, motivated, passionate person who can work on own initiative but also as part of a team. The role is highly rewarding and enjoyable with each day different to the last and involving lots of activities and fun!
To provide a professional and residential care service to all the people we support and to promote the development of the individual's full potential.
To ensure that high standards of professional care and practices for the People We Support are established and maintained, including appropriate attention to their physical, cultural, social, educational, recreational and emotional needs.
To participate in the decision-making process concerning future plans for each Person We Support within their home environment.
To prepare reports and to participate in review for each Person We Support. To ensure that the Person We Support's medication is administered as prescribed by the GP. To undertake 'Keyworker' responsibilities.
To promote and contribute towards effective communication within the residential staff team and between the People We Support and staff, to ensure that continuity of care is maintained.
To contribute towards the maintenance of sound administrative practices within the home; to maintain a detailed case recording system for each Person We Support.
To participate in and contribute to staff training and development programmes as and when required.
To assist as necessary in the overall running of the home and to provide assistance where necessary.
To assist in fostering, developing and maintaining contacts within the local community.
To carry out any other duties as required.
Relevant qualifications NVQ, Diploma etc.
Knowledge of Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.
Experience of working with people who have Behaviours that Challenge, Knowledge of residential care.
Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
Knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
full current driving licence.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
A commitment to people with Learning Disabilities/Autism having a quality of life in the community, Knowledge of basic First Aid, Knowledge of medication.
Understanding of Equal Opportunities Policy, Domestic skills.

The opportunity to progress within the care sector and develop additional skills and qualifications following successful completion of the apprenticeship.
