Rate: £30–£40 per hour
Contract: 3-month rolling contract
Hours: 37 hours per week

We’re currently looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a busy Local Authority enforcement team in North London on an initial 3-month rolling contract , with the potential for ongoing work.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced housing enforcement professional looking for a hands-on role focused on inspections, housing standards and enforcement .

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake Private Sector Housing inspections and investigations .
• Manage cases involving disrepair, housing standards and residential licensing .
• Prepare and serve statutory notices and take appropriate enforcement action.
• Prepare enforcement cases and provide evidence for court proceedings where required.
• Provide technical and legal advice to residents, landlords and stakeholders.
• Manage complex cases and work closely with internal and external partners.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in Private Sector Housing enforcement .
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, HHSRS and residential licensing .
• Experience carrying out inspections and taking enforcement action.
• Strong communication and case management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel for site visits.

Experience with prosecutions, court proceedings, complex enforcement cases or lead officer responsibilities would be highly advantageous.
