Be part of a warm, supportive team that enjoys working together every day

Practise quality medicine in a welcoming, modern practice clients love

Make the most of Stratford-upon-Avon life, with countryside on your doorstep

Picture a veterinary practice where colleagues share a cuppa in the garden, every client and patient is made to feel welcome and quality veterinary care comes first. You'll join a friendly, supportive team that backs your clinical interests and gives you real room to grow, then step out into a historic market town where theatre, cafés and open countryside are part of everyday life.

About us

The Ark Veterinary Practice is a friendly, welcoming first opinion practice in Stratford-upon-Avon, with a strong local reputation for high-quality small animal care and the kind of client relationships that last. We're a proud member of the VetPartners family. Our recent refurbishment has created a modern, welcoming environment, including dedicated cat waiting space and a quiet cat ward.

Team culture matters a great deal to us. Our colleagues enjoy each other's company, whether that's over a cuppa in our landscaped gardens or tending our fruit and vegetable patch. We're proud supporters of our local community too, sponsoring local teams and events and working with local schools. We hold Silver ISFM Cat Friendly status, Dogs Trust Dog Friendly status and RCVS Practice Standards Accreditation.

Lovely clean waiting room with friendly and professional reception staff. We were seen on time by Zuzanna, supported by Emma. Both were very attentive, kind and gentle with our dogs, one of which is quite timid in the veterinary environment. We would highly recommend this veterinary practice. - Louise Hill - Google Review

About this role

You'll be joining four vets, six nurses (five RVNs and one SVN), a VCA, a dedicated reception team and an experienced Practice Manager, all working towards the same goal: outstanding clinical care and a great experience for every client. It's a friendly, supportive team where you can build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Whatever your clinical interests, We'll support them. We actively encourage CPD, further qualifications and certificate study, and you'll have digital and dental X-ray, a high-specification ultrasound scanner, extensive in-house laboratory facilities and laparoscopic equipment to support your work.

Full-time vets work a four-day week, with no out-of-hours and Saturday mornings on a rota, currently one in four. Part-time applications are welcome and flexible working will be considered.

About you

You're a friendly, conscientious and highly motivated vet who takes pride in good clinical work and in the relationships you build with clients. You enjoy being part of a supportive team and want a role that gives you room to develop without giving up life outside work.

You'll also bring:

• A warm, client-focused approach to consultations
• A collaborative attitude, working closely with our nurses and support team
• Interest in developing your clinical skills, special interests or certificate study
• Experience as a Veterinary Surgeon

Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful medieval market town with stunning countryside on the doorstep. Direct trains run to Birmingham and London Marylebone, and on-site parking at the practice keeps your daily commute simple.

Our offer

The salary is £40,000 to £65,000 per annum depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate. Enhanced remuneration may be available for additional qualifications, specialist interests or areas of expertise.

You'll also receive:

• A four-day working week for full-time vets
• No out-of-hours work and Saturday mornings on a rota (currently one in four)
• 6.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays
• £1,750 CPD budget and five days' CPD leave
• Additional funding for relevant qualifications
• RCVS fees and two additional professional memberships paid
• Westfield Health Plan including Employee Assistance Programme
• Buy and sell annual leave scheme

If a four-day week, a supportive team and room to grow sound like the right fit, we'd welcome an informal conversation about the role and what you'd bring to it.
