Modern Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish and Italian) - Maternity Cover

If you are successful, you will be joining a high achieving MFL department that offers compulsory Spanish and Italian in Key Stage 3 and a very successful GCSE course in both subjects at Key Stage 4. In fact, 77% of our learners achieved grades 9-4 in their Spanish GCSE in 2025, and 85% of them achieved grades 9-4 in their Italian GCSE. We hope to introduce one or both languages into the Sixth Form in the future.

Your primary role will be teaching Spanish and Italian. Italian will be taught mostly in Key Stage 3, although there may be opportunities for the successful candidate to teach some KS4 Italian.

We offer a supportive environment in which professional and pedagogical development is at the heart of what we do and in which teacher workload is managed very effectively through sensible loadings, centralised planning and whole class feedback.

Harrow High is a diverse and inclusive school; our learners come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a wide range of prior ability.

Your primary role will be teaching Spanish and Italian.

If you are talented, highly motivated, committed to your own personal development and determined to make a difference, we would love to talk to you.

Closing date: Monday 12th October at 12pm with interviews being held early in the following week.

The school is committed to promoting and safe-guarding the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
