Role Title: Retail Area Manager, Tesco Travel MoneyReports to: Divisional ManagerLocation: South West & West CountryTerritory: Responsible for Tesco Travel Money bureaus across the South West & West Country areas including Barnstaple, Bristol, Poole, Bournemouth, Yate, Midsomer Norton, Truro, Exeter, Plymouth, Shepton Mallet, Trowbridge, Newton Abbot, Keynsham, YeovileSalary: £41,540 + monthly performance based bonusJob Type: Full time, PermanentHours per week: 37.5As an Area Manager within the Tesco Retail Division, you will lead and inspire a team of Bureau Managers and Travel Service Partners across South West & West Country. You will drive commercial performance, customer service excellence and colleague development, while maintaining ownership of budgets, revenue performance and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate teams, build effective succession plans and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across both Travelex and Tesco.Role Overview:Manage and coach a team of Bureaus Managers to drive performance, recruitment and colleague developmentManage costs, expenses and resource profiling across the area to ensure operational efficiencyEnsure all colleagues in your area are fully compliant with various health and safety, operational training, procedures and standardsSupport the expansion of the Travel Money network to maximise profitability by being involved in the coordination of new bureau implementation and upgrades of existing bureauDrive product launches and in-store promotions/campaignsManage communication for all store colleagues and Bureau ManagersExecute business plans designed by the Divisional Manager and maintain ownership of area-specific plans that support strategy deliveryUsing data, prioritize interventions, business performance improvements and margin optimization, including discount managementBuild and maintain strong relationships with Head of Retail, Divisional Manager, Tesco store managers, and internal support functions (finance, HR, IT, compliance, commercial/product team)Foster collaboration and alignment across all stakeholders to support commercial and operational objectivesWhat We’re Looking For:Experience managing multi-site retail or service operations, driving profitability, growth and operational efficiencyProven ability to lead, coach and develop teams, including succession planning and performance managementConfident, decisive communication style and the ability to motivate your teamExperience leading a team across multiple sites and achieving the best resultsThe willingness to learn, be hands-on and manage teams remotelyStrong record of performance delivery through increased customer service sales and cost managementBackground in customer facing environmentExcellent planning, organizational and decision-making skillsOperational capabilitiesIn-depth understanding of compliance & risk in a retail and financial services environmentAbility to analyse complex reports and place actions accordinglyUK Driving License and capability to travel across the assigned area.
