We're looking for a Claims Technician to join our team in Reading. This is a varied role where you'll manage a portfolio of claims, liaise with customers and stakeholders, and help ensure claims are handled professionally, efficiently, and in line with legal and company requirements.

Whether you already have claims experience or are looking to transfer your skills from an administration or customer-focused role, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a specialist claims environment.

What you'll be doing

• Managing your own caseload of claims from initial notification through to resolution.
• Reviewing and responding to correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries.
• Gathering and assessing information to support decision‑making.
• Liaising with customers, insurers, ,and other stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring systems are updated appropriately.
• Identifying and escalating complex cases where required.
• Supporting investigations by obtaining relevant reports, statements, and evidence.
• Ensuring claims are handled in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
• Monitoring key deadlines and using diary management systems effectively.
• Helping identify potentially fraudulent claims.
• Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.

What we're looking for

• Experience in an administration, customer service, claims, insurance, or similar office-based role.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Claims handling or insurance experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
