The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Account Manager to join a successful and growing fresh produce, dairy and fine foods supplier based in Pershore.

Operating throughout the Midlands, the business supplies customers across the catering, hospitality and foodservice sectors and has built an excellent reputation for product quality, reliability and customer service.

This is a varied, customer-facing sales role combining new business development with the management and growth of an existing portfolio of customers.

If you're commercially driven, enjoy getting out and meeting customers face-to-face and have experience selling into the hotel, restaurant, catering or wider foodservice sector, this could be an excellent next move.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you'll take responsibility for developing sales across your territory while building strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing new business by identifying, approaching and visiting prospective customers
• Managing and developing an established portfolio of customer accounts
• Building strong relationships to maximise customer retention and repeat business
• Working towards agreed individual sales and revenue targets
• Identifying opportunities to increase spend and grow existing accounts
• Delivering consistently high levels of customer service
• Responding promptly to customer enquiries and sales requests
• Tracking sales performance against agreed targets
• Developing your knowledge of new products, ranges and market opportunities
• Participating in ongoing sales and product training

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, proactive and genuinely enjoys building relationships with customers.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous face-to-face sales or account management experience
• Experience selling into hotels, restaurants, contract caterers or the wider hospitality/foodservice sector
• Fresh produce, fine foods or food distribution experience would be a strong advantage
• A proven ability to generate new business as well as develop existing accounts
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A commercially minded and target-driven approach
• Excellent organisation and follow-up skills
• The confidence to work independently and manage your own customer relationships
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach
• This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys being out in the market meeting customers, rather than working in a predominantly telephone or remote sales environment.
