About the role:

justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in Key Stage 4 from September 2026 . This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping young people succeed academically, socially, and emotionally as they prepare for their next stage of education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout lessons and school activities.
• Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and meeting individual learning targets.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
• Support emotional wellbeing and implement behaviour support strategies where required.
• Liaise with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEN.
• Understanding of a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, or moderate learning difficulties.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with young people.
• Reliable, professional, and flexible approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
