Are you a commercially driven sales leader who still enjoys being hands-on, winning business and developing long-term customer relationships?

We are recruiting a Head of Sales for an established manufacturing business in North Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of the sales function at an important stage in the company's continued development.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to step away from customers and focus purely on managing a team. We are looking for someone who enjoys being commercially active, generating and converting new opportunities while also developing existing customer relationships and leading a small Sales and Marketing function.

Working closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, you will have the opportunity to influence how the commercial function develops, bringing greater structure, visibility and focus to sales activity while helping identify future markets and growth opportunities.

What will you be doing?

• Leading and developing the sales function to support continued business growth.
• Developing new business opportunities and strengthening existing customer relationships.
• Providing leadership, coaching and direction to the Sales and Marketing team.
• Helping shape and deliver the wider commercial strategy.
• Developing effective sales processes and ways of working.
• Using commercial information and insight to identify opportunities for growth.
• Working collaboratively across the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
• Providing commercial input and insight as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

What are we looking for?

You will be an experienced B2B sales professional from a manufacturing environment , combining strong commercial capability with a natural, consultative approach to customers.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Strong B2B sales and business development experience.
• Experience building and developing customer relationships.
• A commercial, consultative approach to sales.
• Experience leading and developing others.
• Strong commercial awareness and a structured approach.
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
• Confidence working collaboratively across a business.
