Aspire People are looking for an experienced Mathematics Lecturer to deliver GCSE Mathematics, Essential Skills Application of Number and Agored qualifications to post-16 learners in Newport.

This is an opportunity for a passionate Maths teacher or lecturer who can support a diverse range of young people and adults to achieve their qualifications and progress towards further education or employment.

The Role

• Deliver engaging GCSE Mathematics and Skills sessions
• Teach Essential Skills Application of Number and Agored qualifications
• Support post-16 learners with different abilities and learning needs
• Prepare learners for assessments and monitor their progress
• Build positive relationships with learners and colleagues
• Work collaboratively with curriculum staff to support learner outcomes

Requirements

• Honours degree in Mathematics or a related subject
• A Level Mathematics at grade A-C
• PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve one
• Strong Maths subject knowledge
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
• Strong understanding of assessment and learner progress
• EWC registration or willingness to obtain
• Enhanced DBS for Children
• Basic Welsh language skills desirable, or willingness to undertake training
