Relief Retail Security Officer

£14.51 per hour + Paid Lunch Break

We are seeking a Retail Relief Officer to provide cover across Sainsbury's stores in Peterborough, Spalding, and Bourne.

Due to the nature of this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as regular travel between stores is required.

Looking for a role where you're valued, supported and paid for every minute you're on shift – even your breaks?

At Mitie, we recognise the importance of your time, which is why your lunch break is fully paid, meaning you earn more while taking the time you need to recharge.

About the Role

We're looking for a confident, approachable Retail Security Officer who can bring energy, professionalism and a calm presence to the shop floor. This is a role where no two days are the same as you'll be helping to protect people, prevent loss and create a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike.

With flexible shifts discussed at interview, this is a great opportunity to find a working pattern that fits around your life while building a rewarding career with Mitie.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences
• Carrying out regular store patrols
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
• Working closely with store management teams
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite

What You'll Need

• A valid SIA licence (or willingness to complete the training – we may be able to support you with this)
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (this is essential for vetting)
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach

Why Join Mitie?

We don't just offer a job – we offer a package that supports you:

• £14.51 per hour + PAID LUNCH BREAK (so you earn more for your time)

• Guaranteed contracted hours, giving you stability, certainty and peace of mind
• Generous annual leave, so you can properly switch off, recharge and enjoy time away from work
• Pension schemes to help you plan and build for your future
• Uniform provided, so you have everything you need to feel confident from day one
• SIA licence renewals support, with the cost of these covered whilst in employment with Mitie (excluding DS&CP license) helping you stay qualified and ready to progress
• Full induction and ongoing training, giving you the knowledge, support and confidence to succeed
• Retail discounts, financial services and reward schemes to help your money go further
• Online GP access for you and your family, giving you quick, convenient support when you need it
• Apprenticeships and real career progression opportunities, so this can be the start of something bigger

Don't miss out on this opportunity to join a supportive team where you're paid fairly for every minute you work!
