International Sales Executive – Textiles & Apparel

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 DOE Bonus Company Car

Location: Manchester Office Based

Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm Friday 9am - 2:30pm

We're looking for an experienced Sales Executive who enjoys building relationships, developing new business and turning opportunities into long-term customers.

You don't necessarily need to come directly from the textile industry. If you're a strong B2B salesperson with the confidence to develop new accounts, manage existing relationships and learn a specialist product range, we'd love to hear from you.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Apparel Sales, you'll become a key point of contact for both new and existing customers.

This isn't simply about maintaining accounts. You'll have the opportunity to actively develop new business, identify potential customers within the fashion and apparel market and introduce them to a specialist range of fabrics, including waxed cotton.

You'll build an understanding of your customers, what they're trying to achieve and which products best meet their requirements.

What you'll be doing

Business Development & Sales

• Identifying and approaching prospective customers across the fashion and apparel industry
• Generating new leads and converting opportunities into long-term customers
• Promoting specialist fabric collections to brands, manufacturers and distributors
• Working towards monthly and annual sales targets
• Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts

Account Management

• Developing strong, long-lasting customer relationships
• Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable fabrics
• Preparing quotations and arranging product samples
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing an excellent level of service
• Acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the sales process

Market Development

• Researching emerging trends across the fashion, apparel and textile markets
• Identifying new brands, manufacturers and distribution opportunities
• Supporting trade shows, customer meetings and product presentations
• Helping identify new markets and commercial opportunities

Sales Support

• Maintaining accurate customer and sales information
• Producing sales reports and updating CRM records
• Working closely with production and logistics to ensure customer orders are delivered successfully

What we're looking for

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• At least five years' experience within a sales environment
• Strong B2B sales, business development or account management experience
• A track record of developing and maintaining customer relationships
• Confidence approaching prospective customers and generating new business
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• A commercial and target-driven mindset
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple customers and priorities effectively

Previous experience within textiles, fabrics, fashion, apparel or a related sector would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Experience selling a specialist, technical or manufactured product would also transfer well into this position.

Travel

As this is an international sales position, some travel will be required to meet customers and attend relevant industry events.

You'll therefore need

• A full clean UK driving licence
• A valid passport
• Flexibility to travel when required
