Job Title: PMLD Learning Support Assistant - Secondary & FE College

Locations: Walthamstow & Romford

Pay Rate: £95.00 - £100.00 per day (PAYE / Weekly Pay)

Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term

About the Role

Randstad Education is currently recruiting compassionate and experienced PMLD Learning Support Assistants to work with secondary schools and FE college provisions in Walthamstow and Romford . You will be supporting young people aged 11-19+ who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive 1:1 and small group support in classroom, sensory, and hydrotherapy environments.
• Deliver comprehensive personal care (including hygiene, changing, feeding/PEG feeding support, and hoist/moving and handling).
• Implement sensory integration strategies and assist with communication tools (AAC, PECS, Makaton).
• Support students in achieving their individual EHCP targets and independent living skills.

Requirements

• Essential: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service covering BOTH Child & Adult Workforce , or a firm commitment to apply for one immediately.
• Experience supporting PMLD, complex health needs, or severe physical disabilities in education or care settings.
• Comfortable and confident carrying out routine personal care and physical support.
• Right to work in the UK.
