School Receptionist/Administrator

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a School Receptionist / Administrator to join a secondary school on a temporary basis, providing cover for a permanent member of staff who is on long-term absence.

This is an ongoing, week-to-week temporary position, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.

As the first point of contact for the school, you will provide a welcoming, professional and efficient reception service, while supporting the wider administration team with the day-to-day running of the school office.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming pupils, parents, visitors and staff to the school
• Answering and directing telephone calls and enquiries
• Managing the school reception and maintaining a professional front-of-house service
• Handling emails and general correspondence
• Supporting with attendance and pupil administration
• Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems
• Assisting with general administrative duties as required
• Liaising with parents, staff and external visitors
• Following school safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
• Providing general support to the school office team

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a school, education or busy administrative/reception environment.

You will be:

• Friendly, approachable and professional
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Confident communicating with staff, parents and visitors
• Able to remain calm and professional in a busy school environment
• IT literate and comfortable using administrative systems
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable
• Experienced in handling confidential information appropriately

Requirements:

• DBS Certificate on the update service or be able to obtain one
• Two professional references
• Right to work in the UK.
• CV covering all dates (including any gaps in work/academic history) over the past 10 years
