With ROC Northwest, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures because as a Residential Support Worker every moment you spend with our young people helps them to feel safe, valued and supported.
A simple "How was your day?" or a shared laugh playing a game, being someone to listen and offer encouragement on a tough day. All these small interactions build trust, encourage communication and help to shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why you truly matter in vulnerable children’s lives.
You’ll be supporting young people with their daily routines like helping to ensure they get ready for school or college each morning, getting ready for meal times, checking on how their day went and planning activities in and around the home. Making sure care plans are up to date is essential and the children must feel their feedback and ideas are heard, this is their home.
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
You need to be someone who genuinely cares and wants to make that difference. Consistency in a child’s life is essential and you will be part of that consistency. This is not a stopgap job. The children need to see you are here for them through the bigger picture. Be warm, patient, be a great listener and offer those words of encouragement our young people need to hear. Stay focused on achieving outcomes for our children and take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.
At Aroona we learn from each other's different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, coming together with a shared goal of achieving the best outcomes for every child. Our home is a place where everyone is respected, supported and encouraged to grow. We celebrate the small wins and support each other through the challenges.
The young people at Aroona are the heart of our home. Each one brings their own personality, interests, and strengths and they never stop surprising us! They are curious, funny, and full of character. Being part of their world, watching them grow in confidence, learn new things, and share their joy makes every day meaningful. They remind us why we do what we do.
CareTech is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children. All applicants must pass an enhanced DBS/PVG check and provide references covering the past two years plus all roles involving vulnerable groups.
This isn’t just a job - it’s a chance to change lives, one extraordinary day at a time.
