We are looking for Support Workers to join our service in York on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours)

We are looking to grow our team of dedicated, caring and enthusiastic support workers. You will work with a diverse group of people, each withunique abilities and needs. You will be expected toprovidean outstanding level of support that willhelp to ensurethepeoplewe supportlivea happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.

Typical responsibilities may include:

Supporting people to live independently– budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Excellent communication skills and Relationship building– supporting thepeople we supportto understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
Community & Social Inclusion-supporting individuals to access andparticipatein their local community andsocial events to promote life skills and individuality.
Personal care- helping people to get ready forthe day. Thismay include prompting the people we support to take their medication andassistingwithbathing,showeringand using thebathroom. Notall Support Worker roles includehigh levelsof personal care.

As each service is different, so too are the requirements and shift patterns.Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays so flexibility is key. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

What we're looking for:

A genuine passion for supporting others.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Experience within the care sector is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be provided.
