About the role:

justteachers is seeking a Forest School Support Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Burnley area to cover on a long-term basis. The part-time post is due to start in September 2026 , with shortlisting currently taking place.

This forward-thinking school places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and holistic development, offering pupils a nurturing environment where nature-based experiences support emotional regulation, confidence, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with SEND during Forest School sessions and outdoor learning activities
• Assisting with the setup and safe delivery of nature-based tasks and sensory exploration
• Encouraging independence, teamwork, and resilience through outdoor play and structured activities

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant qualifications or training in Forest School, outdoor education, or child development
• Proven experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs
• Strong knowledge of outdoor learning principles and safeguarding procedures
• Two education or school-based references
