Due to continued growth, we are delighted to recruit for a Trade Counter Sales professional to join our team at our Newry branch . This opportunity is ideally suited to a sales-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and is motivated to drive sales performance.

The Role

As a Trade Counter Sales professional, you will play a key role in maximising sales opportunities while delivering an exceptional customer experience to both trade and retail customers. This is a customer-facing, target-driven role where your ability to engage, upsell, and build rapport will directly contribute to branch performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all retail and trade counter enquiries in a professional, sales-focused manner
• Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and maximise sales at every interaction
• Provide expert product advice and support customers with tailored solutions
• Process sales transactions, including cash handling and operating computerised stock and ordering systems
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service and presentation

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role (trade counter or building supplies experience desirable)
• A strong sales mindset with a focus on achieving targets and driving revenue
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting customer relationships
• A proactive, energetic, and results-driven approach
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of, or interest in, building materials, timber, and hardware
