A well-established law firm in Malton is looking to recruit a Probate & Wills Legal Secretary to join its busy Probate & Wills team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, secretarial or customer service experience who is keen to develop their skills within a professional legal environment.

Previous experience working in a law firm is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with administrative experience in other sectors who are organised, detail-focused and confident dealing with clients.

You will receive support from an experienced team while developing your knowledge of Wills, Probate and Estate Administration.

The Role

Working closely with solicitors and fee earners, you will provide essential secretarial and administrative support to the Private Client team, helping to ensure that client matters progress smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing, formatting and amending correspondence and documents.
Providing administrative support on Wills, Probate and Estate Administration matters.
Opening, maintaining and closing client files.
Liaising with clients and third parties by telephone and email.
Managing diaries, appointments and meetings.
Handling incoming correspondence and ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly.
Updating the firm's case management system and maintaining accurate client records.
Preparing documentation and assisting with general file administration.
Supporting solicitors and fee earners with their day-to-day administrative requirements.
Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
