Secondary English Tutor - Chester

Hours: 5-15 hours per week

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting an experienced Secondary English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a learner in Chester.

The successful tutor will be able to create engaging English sessions, adapt learning to the learner's needs and help develop both subject knowledge and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualised English tuition
• Support reading, writing and comprehension
• Develop literacy and communication skills
• Plan lessons around learner ability and targets
• Adapt resources and teaching approaches
• Encourage engagement and independent learning
• Monitor academic progress

Requirements

• Strong English subject knowledge
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience working with secondary-aged learners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional child-related references
