With two full-time positions available and a contract duration of six months, this ongoing role requires working long day shifts and night shifts. What you will do

Perform specialist Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratory investigations.
Validate and report laboratory results with precision and expertise.
Process urgent and routine samples efficiently to support patient care.
Participate in the delivery of a 24-hour laboratory service, including night and long day shift rotas.
Review laboratory quality assurance standards to maintain high-quality service.
Operate and maintain laboratory analysers and equipment.
Ensure accurate completion of laboratory records and documentation.
Support safe and effective Blood Sciences service delivery.

Requirements

Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
Proficiency in Haematology and Blood Transfusion practices.
Ability to work independently and undertake lone working at night.
Experience within an NHS laboratory and ability to work long day shifts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as part of a laboratory team.
Previous Band 6 Biomedical Scientist experience.
Experience within Essential Services Laboratories.
Experience supporting out-of-hours services.
Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems.
