Tradewind Recruitment are working with an established school trust in Chesterfield to recruit experienced Autism Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist setting.

The children have very high levels of need , so we are looking for confident, resilient and experienced Teaching Assistants with excellent behaviour management skills who are comfortable supporting pupils with complex needs.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with Autism and complex additional needs
• Using positive and effective behaviour management strategies
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting learning, communication and emotional development
• Working closely with teachers and support staff
• Maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment

This Autism Teaching Assistant role is based in Chesterfield and would suit candidates with experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEND or challenging behaviour.

Pay: £95-£125 per day

The daily rate offered will depend on:

• Experience: Strong relevant experience supporting pupils with Autism and/or complex needs may be considered for the higher end of the scale.
• Behaviour Management: Excellent behaviour management skills and experience handling challenging situations will be highly valued.
• Availability: Consistent and flexible availability can be a factor when determining the rate.
• School budget: The final rate will be subject to the school's available budget.
