Room Leader - Preschool (Welcome Bonus)

Nursery – Bright Horizons Putney Day Nursery and Preschool Salary – Starting from £32,864 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience) Location – Putney, London

About the role

We’re looking for a Room Leader to join our Putney Day Nursery and Preschool. Our nursery is situated in Putney, with great transport links – just a 5 minute walk from several stations and within close proximity of Roehampton, Barnes, Wandsworth and Wimbledon! This role will be based in the Preschool room. For this position, we are offering a Welcome Bonus of £1000 (T&C’s apply). Our 62‑place nursery features beautifully designed, bright and engaging rooms and our nursery also offers a fabulous adventure garden for our children to explore and enhance their learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, support and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education, helping all children within the room to develop and meet their individual milestones.
• Promote and ensure child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding.
• Maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.

Requirements

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children.
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/carers.
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults.
