Job Description

Provide Education is currently recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil at a school in the S64 area.

This role is due to start on Monday 5th October 2026 and will involve working five afternoons per week, from 12:45pm to 3:15pm.

The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the pupil access learning, develop their independence and engage positively with the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil with special educational needs.
• Support the pupil's learning, development and engagement in the classroom.
• Help implement strategies to meet the pupil's individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction and independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be patient, nurturing and confident in supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience working with SEN pupils, particularly within a primary school setting, would be advantageous.
