Office Manager, Engineering Consultancy

Location: Leeds city centre

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, permanent

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent M&E engineering consultancy with offices across Yorkshire. They deliver mechanical and electrical design, energy efficiency, BIM and strategic asset management for clients across the built environment. It's a growing, friendly team that values practical thinking and getting things done.

The opportunity

Our client is looking for a capable, energetic Office Manager to run their Leeds office and support the wider business. You'll keep things moving: organised, proactive and happy to turn your hand to whatever the day needs.

Key responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day operation of the Leeds office, including ordering supplies and equipment and managing suppliers
• Book business travel, accommodation and team events
• Support the raising and processing of invoices using Xero, with scope to take on more of the accounts over time
• Coordinate and help write pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender submissions, working with the technical team
• Provide copywriting and marketing support, including proposals, website and social content, and company communications
• Act as the first point of contact for visitors, clients and the team

About you

• Commercial experience in an office management, business support or administrative role, ideally within professional services, engineering or construction
• A confident writer with a strong eye for detail and a knack for clear, professional copy
• Experience with, or a genuine appetite to learn, Xero and basic accounts tasks
• Exposure to PQQs or tenders is an advantage but not essential
• Flexible, adaptable and dynamic, someone who enjoys variety and gets stuck in
• Well-rounded, energetic and driven, with the initiative to spot what needs doing
• Based in, or able to commute easily to, Leeds
• Keen to work in a business team that includes working from the office full time.
