Movement Planner

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Planner to join our Planning and Transport team in Birmingham. You will be part of a growing and ambitious team with responsibility for making sure that both our drivers and customers are happy.

About Engineius

Engineius’ goal is simple: to make vehicle movement easy. We are on our way to creating the leading end-to-end movement solution in the UK for our customers (such as Hertz and The AA), delivered by our network of 600+ drivers and transport agents across the UK.

Since going live in April 2018, we have acquired over 80 clients, many of whom can claim to be amongst the largest players in the UK automotive industry. We are already one of the largest competitors in our space but have ambitions to grow much further and we are crazy about sustainability, to date we have saved fleets over 10,000,000 tonnes of CO2.

We are seeing our hard work paying off as we have won 7 awards, including Best Fleet Software three years in a row, a highly commended well-being award, two innovation awards, and one outstanding product of the year award. You can read about our awards here:

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule daily routes for full-time contracted drivers, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Monitor and adjust driver schedules in real time to respond to operational changes, delays, or issues.
• Coordinate and deploy backstop (contingency) drivers on the day to maintain service continuity.
• Optimise driver utilisation to ensure efficiency and on-time delivery to meet customer needs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to improve efficiency and enhance customer experience

What we are looking for:

• Experience in route planning and prioritisation in logistics.
• Proven attention to detail. It is a fast-moving environment, and you’ll need to be able to juggle multiple priorities successfully.
• Highly computer literate and comfortable learning new IT systems. We are a technology-led company and we work exclusively on software and online platforms.
• Desire to embrace change in the logistics industry. We do not want to do things the same way as everyone else in the market.
• Looking for a full-time career in Birmingham.
• Strong understanding or knowledge of UK public transport routes and connectivity. Our drivers do not use ‘runners’ and get between jobs using public transport, so this is a crucial part of the job.
• Experience of managing drivers
• Desire to work constructively across the business with our in-house systems team to improve our tools, processes and software so that we can grow even more quickly.
• Any relevant further qualifications (e.g. CPC)
