HGV Mechanic

Job Title: HGV Mechanic / Technician

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Duration: Temporary to Permanent

To carry out inspection, servicing, diagnostics and repair of light vehicles and/or HGV trailers, ensuring all work meets safety standards and MOT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Technician

• Service, maintain, and repair HGV trailers.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Carry out fault finding and mechanical repairs.
• Support electrical fault diagnosis where required.

Light Vehicle Mechanic

• Carry out servicing and maintenance on cars and vans.
• Inspect vehicles to MOT standard.
• Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Perform repairs on light commercial vehicles and cars.
• Work collaboratively within a team of technicians.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or Vehicle Technician.
• Knowledge of light vehicles and/or HGV trailers.
• Experience with diagnostics and fault finding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and safety standards.
• Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge (desirable).

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday - 07:30 to 16:30
