Rough Sleep Support Worker
Northampton
You will provide responsive and assertive outreach support to people sleeping rough, building trusted professional relationships and helping…
We are proud to deliver our Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP) , a specialist supported housing service providing ten self-contained one-bedroom properties for single adults and couples, including accessible accommodation for people with additional mobility needs.
Our service offers safe, stable accommodation alongside intensive, person-centred support for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Many of the individuals we support have experienced long-term rough sleeping, trauma, poor mental health, substance misuse, or other complex needs.
Using Trauma-Informed and Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approaches, we work alongside each person to build confidence, develop independence, and help them move towards sustainable, long-term housing.
As a Support Worker , you will play a key role in preventing homelessness and supporting people to achieve lasting positive change. You'll build trusted relationships with customers, providing practical and emotional support that enables them to overcome barriers, maintain accommodation, and work towards independent living.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with internal teams and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, person-centred support tailored to each individual's goals and circumstances.
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient, and committed to making a positive difference in people's lives. You'll be able to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and be confident supporting people with a range of complex needs.
Experience in homelessness, housing, supported accommodation, mental health, substance misuse, or related support services is desirable, but above all we're looking for someone who shares our values and believes everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life.
At SHAP, we believe that homelessness is not just about housing—it's about helping people regain stability, confidence, and hope for the future.
By joining our team, you'll become part of a service that changes lives every day through compassion, partnership, and person-centred support.
Safeguarding children and adults is our first priority and we will ensure we follow safer recruitment procedures.
As an employer, we will do everything possible to prevent unsuitable people obtaining employment with BCHA. Our overall aim is to ‘deter unsuitable applicants from applying for roles with children and adults, and we will ensure that all candidates are treated fairly, consistently and in compliance with current legislation.
BCHA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of people, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
