Location: Remote first, with occasional office attendance (HR9 - Ross-on-Wye - Locally based applications are prioritised)

Hours: Part-time, Permanent - up to 20 hours per week

Salary: £15.50 - £20.00 per hour, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an established, family-owned business that is looking to grow its customer base and strengthen its sales operation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced B2B sales, lead generation or business development professional looking for a genuinely flexible, part-time position.

The role will focus on identifying and engaging prospective customers, qualifying genuine opportunities and passing strong leads to the wider commercial team. This isn't about high-volume cold calling. You'll be given clear target markets and priorities, research appropriate businesses and have meaningful conversations to establish where genuine commercial opportunities exist.

This role is a new role in the business - my client is in the early stages of setting up this function so you can play a key part in the CRM and function set up but the early stages process will be fluid.

What You'll Be Doing

• Research and identify prospective B2B customers within agreed target markets
• Make initial contact with prospects by telephone and email
• Introduce the business and establish potential customer requirements
• Qualify opportunities against agreed commercial criteria
• Identify key decision-makers and understand potential buying requirements and timescales
• Pass qualified opportunities to the appropriate member of the commercial team
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the CRM
• Follow up prospective customers and previous conversations
• Provide a weekly update covering activity, outcomes and qualified opportunities
• Gather useful market intelligence including competitor activity, commercial trends and recurring customer objections

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is confident starting conversations and can quickly establish whether there is a genuine business opportunity.

You’ll be comfortable working independently, managing your own activity and taking responsibility for delivering against a weekly brief.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous B2B sales, lead generation or account management experience
• Strong telephone-based prospecting skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
• Experience qualifying prospective customers and opportunities
• Confidence speaking with business owners and decision-makers
• Good CRM and record-management skills
• Strong organisation and follow-up skills
• A proactive and self-motivated approach

Hours & Benefits

This is a permanent, part-time position offering up to 20 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked.
