Private Sector Housing Officer – Essex

I’m currently recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Officer to join a Council in Essex on an initial 3-month rolling contract.

The role is paying up to £50 per hour and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days per week required on site and the remainder working from home.

The role will cover a range of private sector housing duties, including:

• HMO licensing
• HHSRS inspections and assessments
• Housing enforcement
• Investigating housing complaints
• Preparing notices and enforcement documentation
• Working with landlords and tenants to ensure compliance with housing legislation

You’ll need previous experience within a local authority Private Sector Housing team, with good knowledge of HMO licensing, HHSRS and housing enforcement.

The contract is initially for 3 months on a rolling basis, with a rate of up to £50 per hour.
