Sen Teaching Assistant

Location: Penwortham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Start Date: November 2026

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Penwortham from November 2026 .

This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

• Providing classroom-based support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to support academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Implementing strategies and interventions to help pupils remain focused and engaged.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils with their individual learning targets.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote successful outcomes.

• Previous experience supporting children within a school or educational setting is essential .
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
• A caring, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.

• Competitive pay rate of £14.25 per hour .
• Full-time hours with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
