Residential Support Worker - Children's Residential Home (Nottinghamshire)

Shift Pattern

2 Days On / 4 Days Off

Shift Details

• Day 1: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
• Day 2: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
• Day 3: Finish at approximately 8:30am, then enjoy 4 consecutive days off

Candidate Responsibilities

• Providing safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people
• Supporting emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young residents
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times
• Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
• Assisting young people with education, training, employment, and life skills development
• Supporting the implementation and review of care plans
• Encouraging participation in recreational, educational, and social activities
• Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals
• Completing accurate case records and reports using electronic systems
• Undertaking household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a homely environment
• Administering medication in line with organisational policies and training

What Are We Looking For?

• Experience working with children and young people (desirable)
• Previous experience in a children’s residential setting (preferred)
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications in Children and Young People's Services
