SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Pay: £140 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Contract: Full time, term time
Start Date: ASAP

Choice Teachers are working with a specialist SEN education setting in South Cambridge to recruit a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is energetic, hands on and keen to develop a career within specialist education .

The setting supports young people with complex learning needs and additional needs , providing a highly personalised approach to education and development.

You will work as part of a close team, supporting pupils both academically and with their wider personal development, communication and independence.

The Role

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Supporting pupils with complex SEN and learning needs
• Helping pupils develop communication, independence and life skills
• Building strong and trusting relationships
• Supporting practical, sensory and outdoor learning activities
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities
• Providing consistent and positive support throughout the school day
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary specialist team

We're Looking For

• Energetic, enthusiastic and hands on
• A genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs
• Patient, resilient and willing to learn
• Previous SEN, care, education, youth work or support experience is ideal but not essential
• A full driving licence would be advantageous but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required
• Must be available full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

This role would suit a graduate, sports coach, youth worker, support worker, aspiring teacher or experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step into specialist SEN education .

You'll receive valuable experience working alongside experienced professionals and have the opportunity to develop your skills within a genuinely specialist environment.
