Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Wirral, Merseyside

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a high-performing, SEMH special school in the Wirral. This role involves working closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ behaviour and well-being, ensuring access to quality education across various key stages.

The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the school’s outstanding standards and supportive ethos.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs within classroom settings or small groups
• Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans
• Promoting positive behaviour and well-being to create a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• Relevant experience working with children or young people, particularly in SEMH or special educational needs settings
• A recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
• Mandatory compliance including an Enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK
