Location: Remote - hybrid working, with 1 day per month required onsite

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Care Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to the Council's Adult Social Care legal team.

Working under the supervision of a Senior Lawyer, you will assist with routine legal work and help ensure the Council receives an efficient and effective legal service. You will also support the management team with team procedures, meetings and Lexcel requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide paralegal support to the Adult Social Care legal team .
• Undertake routine legal work under the supervision of a Senior Lawyer.
• Assist with legal research, documentation, correspondence and casework.
• Support the team with the administration of legal procedures and processes.
• Assist with team meetings, record keeping and implementation of Lexcel procedures .
• Work proactively with colleagues across Legal Services and Adult Social Care.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
• Provide a professional and responsive service to internal stakeholders.

Essential Experience

Candidates must have either :

• Previous local authority social care legal experience , covering Adult or Children's Social Care; or
• Previous Adult Social Care experience within a law firm in a similar legal/paralegal support role.

Candidates should also have:

• Previous experience working in a paralegal or legal support capacity .
• An understanding of social care legal processes and the role of a local authority legal service.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
• A proactive and professional approach to supporting legal colleagues.
