Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a dedicated team in Luton on an initial two-month locum assignment, with the potential for extension.

What You Will Do

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify service users' needs, strengths and goals.
Develop personalised recovery plans in partnership with service users.
Provide one-to-one support and effective keyworking to individuals experiencing drug and alcohol-related difficulties.
Manage an allocated caseload, monitoring progress and adapting support where appropriate.
Promote harm reduction approaches and provide education around safer choices and recovery.
Support service users to understand different recovery models and encourage positive lifestyle changes.
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, specialist services and other partner agencies to provide holistic support.
Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records of assessments, interventions and service-user progress.
Promote a person-centred, recovery-focused approach throughout your work.

Essential Requirements

Relevant experience working within substance misuse, drugs and alcohol services .
Proven experience managing a caseload of service users.
Experience providing one-to-one support and keyworking.
Strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery and harm reduction approaches.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with service users and partner agencies.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
Commitment to promoting person-centred and recovery-focused support.
