We are a busy, well-established General Practice located in Liverpool. Our practice is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care to our local community. We operate in a fast-paced environment with a supportive, friendly team.
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent, 12-month fixed-term contract. Please note that this is a stable, contracted position and is not a temporary or locum post.

The Role:

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a vital link between patients and our clinical team. You will deliver a high-quality, professional, and compassionate reception and administrative service.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting patients and visitors warmly, dealing with enquiries efficiently and politely.
Managing the front desk, answering incoming telephone calls, and booking appointments.
Utilising the EMIS Web system accurately to manage patient records, appointments, and administration.
Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols.
Handling sensitive patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
Liaising with GPs, nurses, external healthcare professionals, and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
General administrative duties including scanning, filing, and processing incoming mail or emails.

Requirements & Experience:

Experience: Minimum of 12 months of experience working directly within a UK GP Practice (essential).
Software: Proven, hands‑on experience using EMIS Web (essential).

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
Attributes: Strong organisational skills, reliability, and a professional, empathetic approach to patient care.

Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour.
