Peter Symonds College is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester, rated by Ofsted as outstanding in every respect. The college has a large team of committed and talented staff who are central to its success.The Geography teaching team comprises eight dedicated and enthusiastic members working with nearly 500 students. The team is highly experienced and qualified, with a strongly collaborative approach. Students participate in a broad range of additional activities on site and through fieldwork, alongside delivery of the AQA A level specification.

The role

We are seeking a Teacher of Geography to join the college on a 0.5 FTE permanent contract commencing in January 2027. The salary range is £33,465 to £51,714 per annum FTE, with an actual salary of £16,732 to £25,857. The reference number for this post is 04/27. The closing date is Monday 28 September 2026 at 08:00 and interviews will be held on Wednesday 7th October.

Requirements

• A degree in Geography or a closely allied subject.
• Enthusiasm for the subject and the ability to share that enthusiasm with students.
