Accounts Assistant – French/English Bilingual

A great opportunity has arisen for a Bilingual Bookkeeper (English/French speaking) to join a prestigious Family Office based in Kensington & Chelsea, one of London’s most sought-after locations.

The role will focus primarily on day-to-day accounts, bookkeeping and finance administration, working closely with the Financial Controller and liaising regularly with the Head Office in France.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bilingual French/English accounts professional who is looking to develop their career within a discreet, professional and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will be a French mother-tongue speaker, fluent in English, with strong IT and accounting systems skills. Experience using Xero, Sage or similar accounting platforms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing, verifying and coding invoices in accordance with established procedures.
• Preparing payment packs and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete.
• Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and well-organised financial documentation.
• Carrying out bank, credit card, expense and supplier reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting the preparation of reliable financial information and reports.
• Collating approved information for payroll, VAT, tax, audit and KYC requirements.
• Liaising with the Head Office in France and handling routine correspondence and communication in both French and English.
• Using accounting software and Excel to maintain and analyse financial information.
• Supporting the Financial Controller with general finance administration and ad hoc accounting tasks.
• Providing cover and support to the wider finance function when required.
• Assisting with general office management duties.

About You

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in accounts, finance administration or a similar position.
• A good working knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel and general IT skills.
• Experience using an accounting system such as Xero, Sage or similar.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
• Mother tongue French – essential
• Previous experience within a family office, private office or other confidential environment would be advantageous.
