Hygiene Operative - Night Shift (23:00-07:00)

About The Role

Hygiene Operative

Spotless standards don’t happen by accident.

At Whitworths, quality starts long before our products reach the shelves. We’re looking for a reliable, energetic Hygiene Operative to help keep our Irthlingborough site clean, safe and ready to deliver—every day.

This is a hands-on role where attention to detail matters. From our factories and warehouses to offices, facilities and outdoor areas, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining the high standards our people, customers and auditors expect.

What you’ll be doing

• Completing scheduled daily, weekly and periodic cleaning across the site
• Supporting with reactive cleaning when extra help is needed
• Collecting, segregating site waste
• Managing daily laundry requirements and litter-picking duties
• Completing hygiene records accurately and on time
• Following all food safety, personal hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Supporting customer visits and external audits
• Working closely with colleagues across Hygiene, Operations and Supply Chain to keep things running smoothly

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to know everything on day one—we’ll help you learn. What matters most is that you are:

• Self-motivated and ready to get stuck in
• Proud of delivering consistently high standards
• Organised and able to complete tasks to schedule
• Flexible when priorities change
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Committed to safe working and accurate record-keeping

Experience in food manufacturing and a Food Safety Level 2 qualification would be an advantage, but they are not essential.

Why Whitworths?

We’ve been bringing great food to people for over 140 years—but we’re firmly focused on the future. You’ll join a supportive team where your contribution is valued, good work is recognised and there are opportunities to grow, including potential progression within our Hygiene team.

If you take pride in doing a thorough job and believe that “clean enough” is never quite good enough, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

We’re on an exciting mission here at Whitworths – to help boost the nutrient intake of the nation, improving general health of families using the goodness found in our delicious products. We’re the only brand that gives a credibly nutritious boost to breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, baking and beyond.

There are obviously many other reasons to come and work with us, but the biggest reason is so that you have a job you love and a company you are proud to say you work for. You will receive a competitive salary, 33 days holiday, a workplace pension, and in addition, you’ll also have access to a number of family friendly, health and lifestyle benefits. Culturally, we believe strongly in investing in our people, developing them in role and developing their careers within Whitworths. Don't just take our word for it, our people say the same, as demonstrated by our recent accreditation from Investors In People.
