About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join Craig-Y-Parc School, supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in delivering high-quality education and care for children and young people with complex needs.

The school supports pupils aged 3-19, including those with PMLD, ASD, ASC, sensory and physical impairments, and SLCN.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Headteacher with the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
• Lead and support staff development, coaching, and performance management.
• Contribute to the school's strategic vision, policies, and improvement plans.
• Support the development of a personalised curriculum suited to pupils' individual needs.
• Monitor teaching, learning, and pupil progress to ensure high standards.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, positive behaviour, and an inclusive school environment.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, external professionals, and agencies.
• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement and positive pupil outcomes.

About You

• Experience in a leadership or senior management role within education, ideally SEND or specialist education.
• Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, PMLD, ASD, or SLCN.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Experience leading and developing teaching and support staff.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
• Strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
