Early Career Teacher

ECT Teacher

Are you an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for your first teaching role?

If you have recently completed your teacher training and are yet to secure a permanent position, registering with Academics could be the ideal next step in your teaching career.

We are currently supporting primary schools across the area with their recruitment needs and are looking to register enthusiastic and committed ECTs who are available for teaching opportunities.

Why register with Academics?

Finding your first teaching position can be competitive, particularly at the start of your career. Registering with a specialist education recruitment agency gives you access to additional opportunities while allowing you to gain valuable classroom experience.

• Access to a wide range of teaching opportunities - including day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term and permanent positions.
• Opportunities with local schools - we work with a variety of schools and can introduce you to vacancies that may not be widely advertised.
• Valuable classroom experience - supply and longer-term placements can help you build confidence, develop your teaching practice and strengthen your CV.
• Flexible working options - work around your availability while continuing your search for a permanent ECT position.
• Dedicated support from an education consultant - we can discuss your career goals, experience and preferred school setting and help match you with suitable opportunities.
• Potential permanent opportunities - a long-term or temporary position can sometimes lead to a permanent role, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills within a school.

What we are looking for

We are keen to hear from ECTs who:

• Have qualified teacher status (QTS) or are completing their teacher training.
• Are enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about education.
• Are committed to providing an engaging learning experience for pupils.
• Have strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Are looking to begin or develop their teaching career.
• Are available for teaching work while continuing to search for a permanent position.

If you haven't secured a teaching position yet, registering with Academics means you can continue gaining experience, earning an income and building your professional network while keeping an eye out for the right permanent opportunity.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
