TeacherActive is proud to be working with secondary schools in Ashington, Northumberland that provide supportive and inclusive learning environments for students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The schools are committed to helping young people with additional needs engage with their education and reach their full potential.

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for long-term roles, with permanent opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a range of needs including autism / ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder / ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, helping them access learning, manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
